Ramesses III

Usimare Ramesses III was the second Pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty. He is considered to be the last New Kingdom king to have any substantial authority over Egypt.

Ramesses III was the son of Setnakhte and Queen Tiy-Merenese. His consorts included Iset Ta-Hemdjert, Tyti and Tiye. He had several children, including Pentawere, who was thought to be involved in the attempt on Ramesses’ life.

His Y-DNA STR profile was determined by DNA testing of his mummified remains from the royal cache at Deir el Bahari.
