Francis I, King of the Two Sicilies

King of the Two Sicilies from 1825 to 1830.

Son of Ferdinand I (King of the Two Sicilies) and Maria Carolina (Queen of Naples and Sicily). Grandson of Maria Theresa, Holy Roman Empress.

His mtDNA HVR1 and HVR2 profile was derived from DNA testing of ancient hair samples from three of his maternal aunts, and from samples collected from two living maternal line descendants of Maria Theresa – Queen Anne of Romania and André de Bourbon Parmis.
