Louis XV, King of France

King of France from 1715 to 1774. Known as Louis the Beloved. He became King at five years old upon the death of his great-grandfather King Louis XIV.

Son of Louis, Dauphin of France and Marie Adélaïde of Savoy. He married Marie Leszczyńska, (daughter of Stanislaw I, the deposed king of Poland) with whom he had several children. Louis XV also had many mistresses (including a commoner – Madame de Pompadour) and had several illegitimate children.

Y-DNA STR profile was determined by DNA testing of three paternal descendants of his great-great-grandfather King Louis III.
