Alfred Edward Peacock, one of several young children lost during the RMS Titanic sinking

Alfred Peacock was one of several young children lost during the RMS Titanic sinking in April 1912.

He was a 7 month-old English boy traveling in third class on the Titanic with his mother and sister. All three perished in the disaster and none of their bodies were recovered or identified.

Alfred Peacock’s mtDNA profile was determined by DNA analysis of two of his maternal relatives, during the investigation into the identity of the “Unknown Child” – the body of a young boy pulled from the ocean after the sinking.
